My life verse/ my mission is Isaiah 61:1The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners,[a]2 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, 3 and provide for those who grieve in Zion—to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.
There is a world of hurting people out there, who need to know that saving grace of Jesus Christ. Who need to know what ever their present struggles, it will not last forever. That the Lord is the one who binds up all our wounds, who lifts us out of the pit of despair ( Psalm 40). People are carrying around baggage the Lord did not intend for us to carry. We are harboring hard feeling we’re not meant to have. These are all from our enemy. Yes, the enemy may appear as your spouse, your in-laws, your co-worker, or even your boss. But, in actuality ….
Ephesians 612 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
New International Version
But, it is only through Christ that we can be “overcomers.”
Jonn1633 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
New International Version
So the Lord commands us to:
1 Peter 2: 1 Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind.
Ephesians 431 Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.
New International Version
These are not what the Lord has chosen for us…this is the enemy. What the Lord has chosen for us:
Colossians 312 Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13 Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. 16 Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. 17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
This is the Loving Heavenly Father I have come to know, love and trust!
Which garments would you like to wear?
Trust all your needs, hopes and desires in the Lord. I Pray His will be done in and through you, in Christ name I pray.
Desiring to be closer to the Lord,
