Have a little talk with Jesus

Psalm 2710 Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me.

New International Version

Many of us have had sad experiences of being forsaken by our father or mother. Broken homes, differences of belief, addiction to drugs or alcohol, even psychological isolation can leave children crippled by this loss. Even as adults, the pain may linger. God can take the that place in our life, fill that void, and heal that hurt. He can direct us to adults who may take the role of parent for us. His love is sufficient for ALL our needs. He is our heavenly Father.

psalm 147He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

New International Version

Our pain isn’t hidden from God; rather, He offers us relief and healing, if we show Him our brokenness and invite Him into the pain.

Invite God to help you. When Jesus walked on earth he didn’t heal everyone. Only those who called upon His name and in faith.

I invite you to give what ever you are holding on to that has you so bound up. Give it to Him, He wants to help you and deliver you from pain and bondage. Song : I surrender all. All to Jesus I surrender, humbly at your feet I bow, take me Jesus take me now. Lay it all down, and allow Him to do a great work in you. Remember, healing can be an ongoing process. One block at a time, and Jesus Christ as the Chief Corner Stone.

Just a little talk with Jesus

My life verse/ my mission is Isaiah 61:1The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me  to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,  to proclaim freedom for the captives  and release from darkness for the prisoners,[a]2 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor  and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, 3     and provide for those who grieve in Zion—to bestow on them a crown of beauty  instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise  instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness,  a planting of the Lord  for the display of his splendor.

There is a world of hurting people out there, who need to know that saving grace of Jesus Christ. Who need to know what ever their present struggles, it will not last forever. That the Lord is the one who binds up all our wounds, who lifts us out of the pit of despair ( Psalm 40). People are carrying around baggage the Lord did not intend for us to carry. We are harboring hard feeling we’re not meant to have. These are all from our enemy. Yes, the enemy may appear as your spouse, your in-laws, your co-worker, or even your boss. But, in actuality ….

Ephesians 612 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

New International Version

But, it is only through Christ that we can be “overcomers.”

Jonn1633 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

New International Version

So the Lord commands us to:

1 Peter 2: 1 Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind.

Ephesians 431 Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.

New International Version

These are not what the Lord has chosen for us…this is the enemy. What the Lord has chosen for us:

Colossians 312 Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13 Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.

15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. 16 Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. 17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

This is the Loving Heavenly Father I have come to know, love and trust!

Which garments would you like to wear?

Trust all your needs, hopes and desires in the Lord. I Pray His will be done in and through you, in Christ name I pray.

For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent and set me high upon a rock.

New International Version

We often run to God only when we experience difficulties. We should practice seeking God’s guiding presence every day. So when troubles come our way, We will already be in God’ presence and prepared to handle any test. Believers can call to God help any time, but how shortsighted to call on God only when troubles come, Many of our problems could be avoided or handled far more easily by seeking God’s help and direction beforehand.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.[a]

Matthew 633 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Exodus 112 But the more the Egyptians oppressed them, the more the Israelites multiplied and spread, and the more alarmed the Egyptians became.

New Living Translation

The Egyptians tried to wear down the Hebrew people forcing them into slavery and mistreating them. But the Hebrews multiplied and grew stronger. Just a Satan works through people to at times reek havoc on our lives. Or we go through circumstance(s) that about breaks us time and time again. When we are burdened or mistreated we may feel defeated. But our burdens can make us stronger and develop qualities in us that will prepare us for the future, We cannot be overcomers without troubles to overcome. Be true to God in the hard times, because even the worst situations can make us better people in the long run.

We cannot imagine all that God has in store for us both in this life and for eternity. Let the Spirit of God comfort and guide you.

1Corinthians2However, as it is written:“What no eye has seen,  what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived”[a]—    the things God has prepared for those who love him—

New International Version

Zechariah 4:6……not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty.

New International Version

We need the Spirit of God to help us with the large and small matters of life. He will empower us to do all we have to do, all he has called us to do.

Matthew 1624 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. 25 For whoever wants to save their life[a] will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it. 26 What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?

New International Version

Self control: We must have it to do most anything… successfully; from dieting, exercise, having successful careers, and especially our spiritual walk. To draw closer to the Lord requires discipline and self control. Self control in any area is not only Not doing harmful things, But also doing the things that if we did them we would prosperus greatly.

It involves everyday decisions ,sometimes momentary, and setting goals. Denying yourself some immediate satisfaction to accomplish a higher level goal that won’t be realized for some time. Self control is saying No, when you want to say Yes. It’s saying enough when you want more. I won’t instead of I will, thinking before we act. It’s controlling our appetite, tongue, thoughts, and our eyes. It is the difference between success and failure. You have to want success, bad enough to sacrifice for it, in anything…especially your spiritual walk and growth. Have you ever though ” I wish I knew scripture like Susan or John” or ” could loose weigh like Linda”. It comes from self control.

Romans 1313 Let us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy. 14 Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh.[a]

New International Version

We cant’ grow spiritually on our own. We need the Holy Spirit to be our guide and teacher, and the grace of God. The same grace that brought you salvation can teach you to say yes to ways of God and no to ungodliness. It can help you lead the controlled life in blessed hope of the Lord’s return.

2Corinthians 12But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

Psalm 27The Lord is my light and my salvation—
    whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life—
of whom shall I be afraid?

New International Version

Fear is a dark shadow that envelops us and ultimately imprisons us within ourselves. I invite you to use fear as a tool . Whether it be fear of loss, rejection, or of coronavirus, whatever your fear. Do everything within your power against the thing you fear.

Philippians 4Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

We can not stick our heads in the sand and act like powerless people.

2Timothy 1For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.

New International Version

As Christ followers, we need to stand upon the promises of the Lord. Take Him at his word. Pray his word. Believe his word.

Matthew 626 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?

New International version

We must become a praying people; servants of the Lord. We must fight our battles on our knees.

My husband and sons love cars and especially fast ones. They watch a program at times of a man who has a old pickup that has a big, fast engine. An he will take on these guys with newer, fancier cars and he will win.

We should be like that…..That no matter what we look like on the outside. Because I have listened to some people speak who are physically scared on the outside, and had unseen scars on the inside as well. As many of us are or were. But, they have brand new heart revved up for the Lord on the inside. Ready to tell everyone what the Lord has done for them. The transformation he has made in them is the same transformation has been done for me and can be for you also. It certainly is not an overnight process, but an ongoing one. The more we tell our story the stronger we get.

Before, when I was hurting and wrapped up in sin and shame ,I didn’t want to tell anyone about the way I was raised, and all that I have experienced and done as a result of that. Satan wants us to be hurting. He wants to keep us in bondage. He doesn’t want us to experience the freedom, salvation, deliverance, and blessings the Lord has in store for each one of us.

But! The Lord has and continues to transform me. Despite the gray hair that is peeking through and the wrinkles and muscle mass loss, from aging process. I have a new heart for the Lord. I am being sanctified !

We all get dressed in the morning and go into public ( prior to coronavirus ). We sit next to each others at work, or church. And no one knows the condition of our heart, and the scars we carry.

Jesus has nail scared hands and feet and he wore a crown of thorns! He did that for you and me. He took on ALL the sin and shame and pain of all mankind. He is our Savior and Healer! Nothing compares to that!

Stop carrying around all your baggage. Give it to the Lord! And let him transform you also. We need to raise up a new army of believers who are willing to fight our battles on our knees.

Are you telling your story?

1Peter 315 But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect

New International Version
